About Us

About the NBA Foundation

Chartered in 2001, the NBA Foundation was formed to advance the banking profession by enhancing the knowledge and competency of minorities in the industry through the sponsorship of awards, grants and other educational programs.

Building on the dream of Dr. Deborah Cole, who was then chairwoman of the National Bankers Association, the Foundation is leading the charge of increasing the number of minorities in the banking industry, supporting the growth and development of minority businesses, expanding the level of financial literacy in underserved communities and the overall creation of wealth for minorities in the United States.

Together, through strategic partnerships, we are working with minority banks and their client base, corporations, various foundations and government to chart a new course for economic growth and opportunities for minorities and underserved communities.
